ALBUM REVIEW: Christina Aguilera Lotus

CHRISTINA AGUILERA Lotus
album review

The most anticipated album of the year is finally here! Christina Aguilera is back! After the unfortunately failure of her previous album Bionic, due to low album sales which resulted in a cancelled tour. Christina proves that she is and will always be a fighter, rising up to deliver one of the best albums of her career, Lotus.

Rise up Lotus rise this is the beginning....

To the sky I rise spread my wings and fly.
I leave the past behind say goodbye to scared child inside.
I sing for freedom and for love.
I look at my relfection embrace the woman I have become.
The unbreakable Lotus in me, I now set free.

Mixing strong military style beats with classic Christina style empowerment ballads, this album gives the fans what we have been waiting for - the real Xtina! The lead single "Your Body" showcases Christina's flirtatious nature and sexy curves.

My favourite tracks on the album include Lotus, Army of Me, Make the World Move, Sing for Me, Blank Page and Best of Me. There are so many truly amazing songs on this album proving Christina still has that legendary vocal ability that made her famous. Unlike Bionic there is only two tracks on the album that disappoint - Circles and Shut UpFans are expecting RCA to release the right singles from Lotus to help increase album sales. This will ensure that Christina can tour worldwide.

BURLESQUE

Last night my sister and I finally saw Christina in her new movie Burlesque. After months of waiting for this movie to be released in Australian cinemas, I can say without a doubt it was definitely worth the wait. I remember the day I saw the trailer and added the link on my blog, I was so excited for the movie. I loved every second of the movie, which infused humour, song, dance, emotion, glitz and glamour into 120 minutes. Christina Aguilera makes her film debut in the lead role of Ali (Alice Rose) a waitress from Iowa who travels to LA to chase her dreams. She meets Jack a cute and sexy bartender played by Cam Gigandet, you may know him from Twilight fame.
Every scene Christina looks absolutely stunning and her vocal performances are perfection in dolby digital surround sound, her voice gives you goosebumps. Although I am not a fan of Cher or her voice, I was pleasantly surprised by her amazing performance as Tess, the co-owner of the Burlesque club. Here is one of my favourite scenes from Burlesque where Tess is putting on Ali's makeup... Just beautiful.

Today I listened to the official movie soundtrack and re-lived the best moments of Burlesque all over again. The Burlesque soundtrack features 8 songs from the movie by Christina Aguilera and 2 Cher tracks.

I loved Christina's makeup, the glitz the glamour of her performances and also the natural makeup look as small town girl, Ali. She was mesmerising and her beauty was breathtaking in High Definition on the big screen. I just couldn't keep my eyes off her, just beautiful.
This is the best movie I have seen in 2011 so far look forward to seeing it again at the cinema and for the dvd release later this year.

GLAMOUR: 2011 Golden Globes

Golden Globes 2011
Best Dressed

When it comes to deciding on who gets the Best Dressed honours, there are 3 important elements of a perfect red carpet outfit; dress, makeup and hair. The ladies listed below got the true trifecta, all having best makeup, hair and most importantly best Dress.

MEGAN FOX  beautiful

Megan never disappoints when it comes to Red Carpet Fashion, her style is bold, daring and always elegant. This year's Golden Globes look was no exception. Her tight figure flattering Armani Prive gown in a soft pale pink (Hollywood nicknames Blush) looked sexy and sweet at the same time. Megan looked tall and feminine at the Gold Globes tonight with her new hubby Brian Austin Green as her date. Her makeup was her classic style of sultry champagne and black smokey eyes and nude lips which were for this evening pink and shimmery. Her hair was full, glamorous soft curls pinned to one side. Her accessories complimented this dress perfectly. She was a true vision of modern glamour with a retro old hollywood spin. Beautiful.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD  stunning
Carrie looked breath taking in this long glittery glamorous strapless Badgley Mischka gown. She looked like an absolute angel on the red carpet. Her hair was swept up and framed her face perfectly. Her makeup was simple and elegant with heavy black eyeliner, thick lashes and soft pale nude champagne lips. Sparkly drop earrings, and silver metallic clutch gave the look an added touch of class. Simply Stunning!

 CHRISTINA AGUILERA  glamorous

Christina was sexy, glamorous, and elegant in a black and nude lacy Zuhair Murad strapless mermaid dress. The burlesque style sexy gown looks exactly like a her fragrance bottle showing off her new fabulous fuller figure. I love that Christina is following in Jessica Simpson's foot steps and embracing her curves! Her jewellery was stunning, crystal drop earrings, and her funky, edgy rings added that sexy Xtina element to her outfit. Christina's soft platinum long sexy locks were just gorgeous against her flawless skin. Her classic pin up style makeup was her signature Back to Basics Marilyn Monroe inspired black eyeliner and red matte lipstick. Glamorous!

ANGELINA JOLIE  gorgeous

Angelina followed this year's Golden Globes trend colour by wearing a very glittery sequin Emerald Green dress by Versace. Of course in true Angelina style her makeup was her classic look of bold black liquid eyeliner and nude lips, very minimal. And when it came to accessories she doesn't need anything except a simple pair of emerald earrings and her sexy hubby Brad Pitt on her arm. I love that she always wears gowns that show off her amazing tattoos! Angie baby we love your style! Gorgeous

This year's Golden Globe awards red carpet fashion trends were bold and modern. Emerald Green gowns were worn by Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Mila Kunis. Black was a very popular choice as always on the red carpet, with Christina Aguilera, Piper Perabo, Eva Longoria, Halle Berry all looking stunning in classic black. Red, Pink and Nude was also very fashionable in Twenty Eleven with Sandra Bullock, Carrie Underwood and Scarlett Johasson wearing nude. While Megan Fox, Claire Danes, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman and Leah Michele all wearing shades of pink. Regardless of the colour or style one trend that was all over this years carpet was long floor length gowns, nearly every dress on this year's Golden Globes Red Carpet was long and glamorous.

2011 Trend Alert: Emerald Green
Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta Jones, Mila Kunis

2011 Trend Alert:  Soft Pink
Leah Michelle, Claire Danes, Natalie Portman

Burlesque Movie Trailer

Last night I saw the trailer for Christina Aguilera's new movie "Burlesque" at my local cinema and wow was I surprised by how amazing this film looks! Christina makes her film debut as Ali, an aspiring singer who moves to Los Angeles with the hope of becoming a big star. She stars along side Cher, Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, & hottie Cam Gigandat in this Musical Drama from Sony Pictures. The movie opens in America in November and Aussie cinemas on Boxing Day.

ALBUM REVIEW: Christina Aguilera Bionic

CHRISTINA AGUILERA Bionic
album review

I recently purchased Christina Aguilera's new album "Bionic". My expectations of this album were low from what I had seen and heard via the internet, but I must admit I am quite impressed with the album! Overall it's a very different sound and vibe than Christina's previous albums like "Stripped" and "Back to Basics". Of course there is the classy ballads like "Lift Me Up" and "You Lost Me" for the fans who love Christina's powerful voice. But the tracks that are truly my favourites are the uptempo edgy dance tracks like "Not Myself Tonight", "WooHoo", "Prima Donna", "Desnudate" and "Vanity". On these tracks Christina becomes her dirrty, sexy Xtina persona she introduced to us back in her Stripped days.

There are a few tracks on this album that I don't like at all; "Elastic Love", "Bobblehead", "Birds of Prey" all have lyrics and music that is very much to put it nicely annoying to listen to. Highlights of this album are the intros "Love and Glamour", "Morning Dessert" and "My Heart' which features Christina's young son Max singing and saying "Mama".

Overall this album is well worth purchasing whether you buy the cd to get the glossy sexy lyric booklet or the iTunes version which features a bonus track. Stripped is still my favourite Christina album, but Bionic is a new sound for Christina and one of the best albums I have bought in a very long time. I give Bionic 4 out of 5 stars.
