Marilyn Monroe is the world most famous glamour icon. She made wearing red lipstick sexy and desirable. Her makeup artist was Ben Nye, one of Hollywood's most famous Makeup Artist. He worked with Marilyn on Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and after retiring from a professional career in makeup - he started Ben Nye cosmetics.

This shade of red, he name after Marilyn Monroe (of course) and it's a deep blue based red that's extremely long lasting and gives a semi mate finish to the lips. This red lipstick would have to be my all time favourite shade of red!
