SAG Awards Best Dressed

Tonight's SAG Awards were another chance for our Hollywood sweethearts to glam it up for the cameras on the Red Carpet and the fashions certainly did not disappoint. This years SAG Awards Red Carpet trends were; brown smokey eyes, gorgeous long gowns with belts, minimal makeup looks and the hair trend was down with loose curls. Here are my best dressed beauties.

Mila rocked the Red Carpet in a red strapless belted Alexander McQueen flowing gown. She looked pretty, sexy and stunning as she light up the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her jewellery by Cartier. Mila's makeup was smouldering with brown smokey eyes, navy blue eyeliner and matte pink nude lips. I love this look, it's young and sexy. Mila Kunis is the it girl of 2011. Watch out Hollywood Mila is a superstar in the making!!

Claire Danes was glowing at this years SAG Awards, with her gorgeous golden locks and glowing skin. Her makeup was pretty and romantic with hot pink lips, sparkling lavender eyeshadow and glowy pink cheeks. Her gorgeous vintage style Louis Vuitton Gown featured hand sewn flowers and a black velvet buckle belt. Her jewellery was by Fred Layton.

Kim's SAG look was inspired by old Hollywood Glamour with a true vintage feel. Gorgeous diamond drop earrings complimented her royal purple Marchesa long gown. Her hair was loosely tied back which is very unusual for Kim and her makeup was simple and minimal with that I fresh dewy JLo "I am just this beautiful" naturally look. Nude lips, nude champagne eyeshadow, soft pretty lashes, glowy skin tone cheeks and then contrasted with dark nail polish. Kim looked amazing and this look really does show how beautiful she really is.

Dianna looked smoking hot in dark gothic style sparkling, lacy Navy Blue dress by Chanel. Her hair was a pretty loose bun and side sweeping bangs which really suited her face shape. Her skin looked gorgeous and she also wore this years SAG makeup trend sexy brown smokey eyes with rosy pink defined lips. Dianna stars in the upcoming action sci-fi flick I Am Number Four.

"L" is for Lea and lovely and luxurious and she looked stunning as she glided down the Red Carpet in a shimmery pale gold sparkling Oscar de la Renta gown that showed off her amazing figure. Lea also followed the minimal makeup trend like Kim Kardashian and toned down her makeup with glowy dewy skin, pale pink blush, lots of lashes, and very nude pink lips.

Song of the Day Two Strong Hearts

Today's was Australia Day so I dusted off my Johnny Farnham albums and listened to them in my car while cruisin.... it's was a flash back to my childhood and the 80's.

So as a tribute to a true Aussie Legend today's Song of the Day goes to Two Strong Hearts by John Farnham from his 1988 album Age of Reason

Two Strong Hearts Lyrics
No need analyze this kind of emotion
'Cause it comes naturally
A simple case of feeling love and devotion
So tell me tenderly
I want to give my life to you
I want to feel my blood run through you
And oh I want to touch you
Over and over and over again

We got two strong hearts
We stick together like the honey and the bee
You and me
We got two strong hearts
Reaching out forever like a river to the sea
Running free

I feel there's no need for compromising my reputation
When you lead me astray
I'm proud to be a part of this fascination
When I hear you say
I want to be there to guide you
I'm going to feel my love inside you
And oh oh I want to touch you
Over and over and over again

MAKEUP OF THE DAY: January 23rd 2011

Today's Makeup of the Day is smokey black shimmery eyes with bright milkshake pink lips!

The foundation I'm wearing today is Revlon's PhotoReady Makeup set with a loose powder and the one I use everyday is Mary Kay Mineral Foundation.

To create the sexy smokey eyes I created a black eye base with my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean and smudged with my finger, then with an flat eyeshadow brush I packed my eyelid with Revlon's Black Galaxy eyeshadow. Next with a soft blending brush I blended up and past my crease. I used Too Faced Nude Beach under my eyeshadow and blended the colour down to my crease so that the black faded up into the nude. I added Silky Teddy by Too Faced into my inner corner of eye and the inner corner of my lower lash line to brighten the eye area. I lined my top lash line with Mary Kay's Black liquid eyeliner and then smudged Black Galaxy under my lower lash line. I added 2 coats of black mascara to my top lashes and 1 coat to my bottom lashes.

For the cheeks I wanted a sweet innocent look to contrast the smokey eyes so I contoured my cheeks with my favourite Benefit Blush, Dallas. Then while smiling I dusted a pink frosty loose eyeshadow on my cheeks and blended with a contoured Blush brush.

Lips today was my classic signature baby pink; however today I used a new lip gloss I recently bought from Benefit called Who Are You Wearing. Firstly I lined my lips with my NYX Dolly Pink lipliner then filled in with my favourite Lime Crime Lipstick, Great Pink Planet.

  • Mirenesse 24hr Brow Mascara

Last night my sister and I finally saw Christina in her new movie Burlesque. After months of waiting for this movie to be released in Australian cinemas, I can say without a doubt it was definitely worth the wait. I remember the day I saw the trailer and added the link on my blog, I was so excited for the movie. I loved every second of the movie, which infused humour, song, dance, emotion, glitz and glamour into 120 minutes. Christina Aguilera makes her film debut in the lead role of Ali (Alice Rose) a waitress from Iowa who travels to LA to chase her dreams. She meets Jack a cute and sexy bartender played by Cam Gigandet, you may know him from Twilight fame.
Every scene Christina looks absolutely stunning and her vocal performances are perfection in dolby digital surround sound, her voice gives you goosebumps. Although I am not a fan of Cher or her voice, I was pleasantly surprised by her amazing performance as Tess, the co-owner of the Burlesque club. Here is one of my favourite scenes from Burlesque where Tess is putting on Ali's makeup... Just beautiful.

Today I listened to the official movie soundtrack and re-lived the best moments of Burlesque all over again. The Burlesque soundtrack features 8 songs from the movie by Christina Aguilera and 2 Cher tracks.

I loved Christina's makeup, the glitz the glamour of her performances and also the natural makeup look as small town girl, Ali. She was mesmerising and her beauty was breathtaking in High Definition on the big screen. I just couldn't keep my eyes off her, just beautiful.
This is the best movie I have seen in 2011 so far look forward to seeing it again at the cinema and for the dvd release later this year.

My Favourite Song from Burlesque is Express:

Alluring Aniston

Jennifer Aniston graces the February 2001 cover of Allure Magazine. She looks picture perfect with her gorgeous golden locks in her 60's Brigitte Bardot inspired photo shoot.

MAKEUP: Bronzy with fresh pink cheeks
Jennifer's Makeup Artist Gucci Westman recreated a 60's, 70's inspired makeup look for the photo shoot. She dabbed bright pink cream blush on the apples of Aniston's cheeks with her fingers and lightly dusted a matching powder blush on top. Next, she brushed a bronze eyeshadow across the actress's lids, lined the top and bottom lashes with chocolate brown pencil and coated the lashes with black mascara. Gucci used her finger to layer berry and nude lipsticks to give Aniston's lips a hint of colour.

The last time Jennifer appeared on the cover of Allure was February 2004.

Jennifer Lopez Glamour Idol

Jennifer Lopez aka JLo's brand new single On The Floor is a a fun up-tempo dance/pop song. The song features rapper Pit Bull. It's the first single from her up coming album Love? due out in Summer 2011. The new album will also include JLO's song Louboutins which you may remember from late 2009 but it was never official released as a single.

Other tracks that have been recorded for Love? are listed below. Only time will tell if all these songs will end up on the final album version.
On The Floor
Everybody's Girl
Fresh Out the Oven
Good Hit
Greatest Part of Me
Hooked on You
Love and War
On The Radio
One Love
One Step at a Time
Starting Over
Story of My Life
This Cannot Be Love
Until it Beats No More
What is Love

While I'm writing this blog I'm watching the premiere of season 10 of American Idol and I am totally loving the new feel of this season.... I think it's thanks to Jennifer Lopez joining Randy Jackson as one of the new Judges for American Idol 2011.

Jennifer has always been someone I have admired for years. Her makeup is ALWAYS flawless and her appearance at this week's Golden Globes was no exception!

She lit up the Red Carpet in an angelic white crystal and jewelled Zuhair Murad gown with a sleek ponytail. She then let her hair down and spiced up her look for the after parties wearing a gorgeous sexy nude Marchesa party dress. My favourite look was her after party dress, it was fun and flirty, I loved the jewellery and the feather detailing on the dress. Just gorgeous. Her makeup matched both outfits and was as always flawless, with glowing bronze skin, nude "JLo" lips and sexy smokey eyes. Just stunning!

Which was your favourite Golden Globes outfit?
